« Until today, only two philologists, made important research about the order in Aristotle’s Politics books: Scaino da Salo in the 16th century and Conring of Hemlstadt, sixty years later. In 1577, Scaino da Salo came to the important conclusion that the 7th and 8th books had to be placed after the 3rd and before the 4th. Scaino’s dicussion and work are bright and common sense » (J. Barthélemy Saint-Hilaire).

In the first book, Aristotle describes the essential elements characterizing the State : individuals and things. One can find his theory of natural slavery and on the acquisition and wealth, which constitutes one of the first essay in Political Economics. In his second book, Aristotle analyzes the different political systems ; in the third book, he says that can only exist 3 different types of government : monarchy, aristocracy and republic. In his fourth book one can find his theory on the legislative, executive and judicial functions. The fifth book is dedicated to the revolutions’s theory.
